Meta introduces Muse AI model allowing users to incorporate tagged Instagram accounts into generated images
Meta has launched its Muse AI image generation model, which allows users to incorporate tagged Instagram accounts into created content.

1. Launch of Muse Image Model
Meta has introduced the Muse Image model, the first AI image generation tool developed by its Superintelligence Labs division. The model is currently being integrated into the Meta AI app, Instagram, and WhatsApp, with plans for a rollout to Facebook and Messenger. Muse Image is part of a new family of models designed to replace Meta’s previous Llama lineup. According to Alexandr Wang, head of Superintelligence Labs, the model is "agentic," meaning it utilizes the Muse Spark large language model to reason through prompts, conduct web searches, and plan before generating content.
2. New Features and User Interaction
The Muse Image model introduces several interactive capabilities, including the ability for users to @ mention other Instagram accounts in prompts. This feature allows the AI to incorporate the likeness of tagged users into generated images by utilizing their public photos. Meta noted that users maintain control over how their content is reused for AI purposes. Additionally, the model supports image transformation through suggested prompts, room redesigns based on images from Facebook Marketplace or the web, and direct photo editing by allowing users to draw on images before sharing them to their feeds, stories, or chats.
3. Future Developments
Following the release of Muse Image, Meta is preparing to launch a Muse Video model. While specific release details remain limited, the company has indicated that the upcoming video tool will focus on high performance regarding prompt adherence, visual fidelity, and temporal consistency. These developments are part of Meta's broader strategy to enhance its AI-driven creative tools across its social media platforms.
